Forum projects we're involved in

Advancing climate ambitions to safeguard the planet

In a joint report with the Forum, we assess the impacts of international carbon pricing scenarios on economies and industries to help inform the debate and provide insights to governments, businesses and civil societies looking for solutions to reduce carbon emissions. Launched at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, the report estimates the projected revenues that could be raised through carbon pricing and used to manage the transition to net zero.

Devising common metrics for consistent ESG reporting

In collaboration with the Forum and our peers, we helped identify a set of metrics and disclosures that can be used by companies to bring greater comparability and consistency to ESG reporting. For the report, PwC led on the Planet pillar. Progress since the report’s publication includes the formation of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), and the initiative continues to enlist companies committed to long-term, sustainable value creation.

Upskilling for shared prosperity

Launched at the World Economic Forum’s 50th Annual Meeting in January 2020, the Reskilling Revolution initiative is an ambitious effort to bring together governments, business, online learning platforms and civil society organisations to provide better education, skills and jobs for 1 billion people by 2030. As the project adviser and a founding partner, we work with the Forum to bring awareness to the critical need for widespread reskilling and ensure preparedness for the future of work.

Improving cybersecurity governance

In collaboration with the Forum, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Internet Security Alliance (ISAlliance) and several of the Forum’s other global partners, we produced an insight report on a set of consensus principles to build trust around cyber governance. Our global digital footprint has ensured that cybersecurity will remain a priority for business leaders in the years to come, making cyber resilience a vital objective for all digitally connected organisations.

Powering sustainable aviation

We are part of the Forum’s Clean Skies for Tomorrow initiative to accelerate the supply and use of sustainable jet fuel. Together with other companies, airlines and airports, all united by the Forum’s coalition, we aim to ensure that at least 10% of the world's aviation fuel supply is sustainable by 2030. In collaboration with the Forum and RMI, PwC Netherlands co-authored a report proposing a sustainable aviation fuel certificate (SAFc) framework and continues to help develop a system for SAF certification.
